SmartBear’s Swagger update targets the API drift problem AI coding tools created

SmartBear revamped Swagger Catalog to centralize API visibility and add drift detection that compares API behavior with OpenAPI specs in CI/CD.

The update aims to reduce spec-to-runtime mismatches and strengthen contract testing and governance as AI coding tools speed up API development.

SmartBear also previewed upcoming Swagger features for AI-assisted API generation, documentation, governance, MCP support, broader protocol coverage, and a new AI-native testing product, BearQ.
