Wired reported that Madison Square Garden security allegedly used facial recognition to monitor a trans woman Knicks fan for two years.

According to former staff and a lawsuit, security also compiled dossiers on her before ultimately banning her from the venue.

The reports say security chief John Eversole directed the surveillance, citing concerns about her gender identity and proximity to players or the court.

The case highlights fears that AI-powered surveillance in private venues can be used for targeted monitoring, discrimination, and opaque enforcement.
