Canada sent a submarine 400 meters off Greenland and found the wreck of Shackleton's legendary ship

A Canadian-led expedition has documented the wreck of the Quest, the ship tied to Ernest Shackleton’s final voyage.

Using the Alvin submersible and Falcon ROV, researchers captured the first images of the vessel on the Labrador Sea floor.

The wreck’s exact location had been confirmed by sonar in 2024, and the ship sank in 1962 after being crushed by ice.

The discovery helps verify the site of a historic Shackleton-linked shipwreck and provides new material to study its condition.
