John Ternus is taking over from Tim Cook as Apple’s CEO

Apple said Tim Cook will step down as CEO on September 1, 2026, with hardware chief John Ternus taking over as CEO and board member.

Johny Srouji has also been promoted to chief hardware officer, while Cook will move into the role of executive chairman.

The leadership change marks a major transition at Apple and could shape the company’s product strategy and hardware roadmap.
