This startup is betting India’s gig economy can train the world’s robots

Human Archive raised $8.2 million to expand its robot-training data business in India.

The startup is working with home-services, hostel, and restaurant businesses to capture first-person video and sensor data from workers.

It says it has more than 1,000 active headsets and 50+ devices deployed, after some major Indian platforms declined to partner.

Investors include Wing Venture Capital, NVP Capital, and Y Combinator.

The company is betting India’s large service workforce can provide scarce real-world data for physical AI systems.
