Meta unveils prescription-first AI glasses and new features

Meta unveiled prescription-optimized Gen 2 Ray-Ban Meta AI glasses: Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics.

Lighter frames support nearly all prescriptions; Blayzer comes in rectangular standard and large sizes, Scriber is rounder; both include overextension hinges, interchangeable nose pads, and optician-adjustable temple tips.

Direct Meta orders are limited to ±6 prescriptions; more complex prescriptions are handled through optical channels.

Preorders began March 31, 2026 via Meta and Ray-Ban; wider retail availability in the US and select international markets is set for April 14; US pricing starts at $499.

Specs and features: up to 8 hours battery (48 hours with charging case), 3K video capture; soon US users 18+ with Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta can log meals hands-free in the Meta AI app; Early Access users get on-device WhatsApp summaries and message-recall prompts with end-to-end encryption; Neural Handwriting expanded on display models.
