OpenAI Appshots turn any Mac window into context for Codex

OpenAI added Appshots to Codex on Mac, letting users send the active window into a Codex thread with one shortcut.

The feature captures both a screenshot and extracted text, including content beyond what is visibly on screen.

It works across plans and requires standard macOS permissions, such as accessibility and screen recording access.

OpenAI says Appshots is not covered by the regional restriction that applies to Computer Use in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.
