Porsche Taycan reclaims Nürburgring EV record from the world's fastest rivals

Porsche’s Taycan Turbo GT, fitted with Manthey Racing upgrades, set a 6:55.53 Nürburgring lap to reclaim the production EV record.

The run comes after record attempts from rivals such as the Rimac Nevera, Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, and Yangwang U9 Xtreme.

The result highlights how EV lap-time gains are increasingly driven by software, aerodynamics, tires, brakes, and chassis tuning.

Porsche also showed the Taycan Turbo GT can approach the pace of a Porsche 911 GT3 on the Nordschleife.
