On the stand, Elon Musk can’t escape his own tweets

Elon Musk testified in California federal court in his lawsuit challenging OpenAI’s move from nonprofit to for-profit.

Under cross-examination, he acknowledged earlier support for some for-profit ideas at OpenAI and discussed poaching and funding issues.

Musk also said Tesla is not currently pursuing AGI, which conflicted with a recent post on X.

The case could influence how OpenAI’s structure is judged and weaken Musk’s arguments on AI motives and safety.
