Google goes for the glitter with disco-ball icons: ‘Are y’all sure you still want this?’

Google has rolled out disco-ball-themed custom app icons for Pixel phones, borrowing from a Spotify icon gag that drew attention online.

Android chief Sameer Samat teased the idea on X and later confirmed the icons were live.

The new look arrived as part of a recent Pixel Drop, alongside other Pixel icon styles.

The move highlights Google’s push toward playful, personalized Pixel features and novelty icon design.
