SpaceX buys the option to acquire AI coding platform Cursor for $96 billion

SpaceX secured the right to acquire AI coding tool maker Cursor for $60 billion in late 2026.

As an alternative, it can pay $10 billion for a joint development deal instead of buying the company.

Cursor will also use SpaceX and xAI computing infrastructure to train and improve its coding model Composer.

The arrangement could tighten integration across Elon Musk’s AI stack and speed up model development.
