NVIDIA employee arrested in investigation into case of NVIDIA-made GPUs smuggled to China via Japan

Taiwan’s Keelung prosecutors are investigating an alleged smuggling scheme to ship NVIDIA GPU-equipped AI servers to China via Japan.

A person identified as an NVIDIA employee was detained on July 24 on suspicion of serious crimes and possible collusion with accomplices.

Authorities searched company premises and a home as part of the probe into the export-control breach.

The case highlights tighter scrutiny of advanced GPU flows amid U.S.-China tech restrictions.
