OpenAI updating ChatGPT desktop app with GPT Voice for talking through work

OpenAI updated the ChatGPT desktop app with GPT Voice, powered by GPT-Live, for spoken control of tasks across Chat, Work, and Codex.

On Mac and Windows, users can start, check, and steer tasks by voice, with support for Computer Use, local files, plugins, and eligible subscriptions.

Mac users also get Appshots for active-window context, helping ChatGPT respond with more situational awareness.

The update adds multi-folder local projects, with one primary folder for new chats and Git operations to better organize development work.
