Amancio Ortega reaches an agreement over a multimillion debt with a Scottish restaurant: the restaurant had to close in 2020

Amancio Ortega’s property firm Pontegadea UK and Glasgow’s historic Rogano restaurant reached a last-minute settlement.

The dispute stemmed from flood and fire damage, with Rogano claiming the landlord failed to repair the building and caused years of lost business.

The case had moved through Scottish courts and was due at the UK Supreme Court, where it could have influenced commercial lease law.
