Valve’s Steam Machine price may scare off console buyers

Valve’s hardware costs are rising, and the Steam Deck OLED has already gotten more expensive because of memory and storage pressures tied to the AI boom.

Leaker Brad Lynch says the upcoming Steam Machine was already expected to cost more than the current Steam Deck lineup.

Rumors now suggest a launch price above $1,000, which would put it far above mainstream console pricing.
