Windows 11 is getting a macOS-like speed boost

Microsoft is testing a Windows 11 “Low Latency Profile” that briefly boosts CPU frequency to make everyday interactions feel faster.

Early testers say app launches, menus, File Explorer, and the Start menu feel more responsive.

The idea sparked online criticism, but Microsoft says the technique is standard and also used in macOS and Linux.

If it ships, the feature could make Windows 11 noticeably snappier in routine use.
