US firm to advance nuclear metal powder development with new contract

Metal Powder Works has moved into the next phase of its development agreement with Westinghouse Electric Company.

The companies will refine and scale the DirectPowder process to produce metal powders for nuclear-related manufacturing applications.

The work is aimed at improving powder performance, supporting component development, and raising technology readiness levels for Westinghouse projects.

The contract extension indicates the process has cleared technical milestones relevant to nuclear-grade additive manufacturing.
