AEMET issues a new warning: "Very intense heat returns to most of the country, especially from Tuesday"

AEMET warns of a sharp heat spike across much of Spain starting Tuesday, with temperatures climbing rapidly.

Several areas could top 40°C, especially in the south and inland regions such as Sevilla, Córdoba, Jaén and Badajoz.

The agency has not yet formally declared a heatwave, but models suggest this could become the fourth of the summer.

The episode may worsen health risks, wildfire danger and daily disruption, while adding to an already very hot July.
