The US Government's Robot Ban Also Includes Vacuums

The FCC says its new ban on foreign-made robots also covers new robot vacuum cleaners.

The agency classifies robot vacuums as advanced robotic devices, so new models would need waivers to be sold in the U.S.

Existing robot vacuums can stay on sale, but the rule could block future imports from brands like Dreame, Roborock, and Anker.

The same broad standard may also affect some power inverters and related connected products.
