Spotify to Adopt Apple's Technology for Video Podcasts

Spotify will add support for Apple’s HLS video podcast format later this year via Spotify for Creators and Megaphone.

The move should let creators distribute video podcasts across Spotify and Apple Podcasts more easily, without changing their workflow.

Spotify also announced new video integrations through its Distribution API for hosting providers including Libsyn, Podigee, Audioboom, Audiomeans, and Podspace.

The company says the changes aim to improve cross-platform interoperability while preserving monetization and analytics for creators.
