Notepad++ Mac Port Renamed Nextpad++ After Trademark Row

An unofficial macOS port of Notepad++ has been renamed Nextpad++ after a trademark dispute was resolved.

The project now presents itself as an independent community port built from the Notepad++ GPL codebase for macOS.

Its site has been updated with a new icon and universal binary support for both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

The rebrand ends the naming conflict and clarifies the port’s separate identity and licensing lineage.
