iOS 26.4 adds video podcasts with these new features

iOS 26.4 brings a refreshed video experience to Apple Podcasts.

Video podcasts have existed for years but were not widely offered; their popularity has grown on platforms like YouTube and Spotify.

New features include one-tap switching between video and audio, offline downloads, Picture-in-Picture, up to 2x playback speed, transcripts, and a video hub.

A video hub debuts in the Podcasts app to aid discovery.

Some features are brand new while others were already available; the UI shows a 'Turn Video On / Turn Video Off' button below the playback bar for easy switching.
