Skylo Technologies showcased its D2D satellite connectivity technology in Seoul, enabling ordinary smartphones to link directly to satellites without a dedicated device.

The service could help close coverage gaps and support use cases such as emergency SOS requests.

Skylo said it is pushing to launch in Korea and is exploring partnerships with local mobile carriers.

The company also highlighted its global commercial status and collaborations with Samsung, Google, Qualcomm, Verizon, Orange, and Garmin.
