ADT ‘Blu’ is a confusing new DIY security system that ditches Google Nest integration

ADT has launched Blu, a lower-cost DIY home security system sold through ADT and Amazon.

Blu uses the ADT+ app and some shared features, but it relies on different hardware.

Unlike ADT+, Blu does not support Google Nest integration, which remains exclusive to ADT+.

The split gives buyers a cheaper option, but it may change the value tradeoff for camera support and smart-home features.
