MagniAIR: New 175 kW air-cooled electric engine unveiled for general aviation flights

MagniX unveiled MagniAIR, a 55-kilogram electric aircraft engine delivering up to 175 kW for general aviation.

The motor is aimed at flight training, recreational, light-sport, defense, and eVTOL uses, and is being tested in a Van’s RV-10 retrofit.

MagniX expects flight demonstrations in 2026 and commercial availability in 2027.

The company is still pursuing FAA type certification, a key hurdle for certified electric propulsion.
