Gemini in Google Docs update addresses repetitive commands with ‘persistent’ instructions

Google Docs is rolling out persistent Gemini instructions so users can keep preferences across documents.

Through the side panel, users can set tone, style, and formatting rules that Gemini remembers for future work.

Active instructions will appear in Docs personalization and sources, helping make settings more transparent.

The feature is capped at up to 1,000 instructions per U.S. English Google Account and is available to Google AI Plus members and above.
