Apple Suffers a Major Loss as the U.S. Supreme Court Sides with Epic Over iOS Fees

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Apple’s appeal in the Epic App Store fee case.

That leaves in place lower-court rulings finding Apple in contempt for not fully following an injunction.

The case returns to the district court, where Apple may be forced to allow easier external purchase options on iOS.

The decision could weaken Apple’s control over app payments and reduce fees for developers and consumers.
