AI upends 133-year tradition… Princeton University makes in-person exam proctoring mandatory

Princeton is ending its 133-year tradition of unsupervised in-person exams to curb AI-driven cheating.

The faculty approved proctoring for all in-person tests, starting July 1.

The school said small devices and AI tools have made cheating harder to detect and report.

A student survey also found rising cheating, underreporting, and increased ChatGPT use.
