The European Commission will unveil a tech sovereignty package covering a review of the Chips Act and Cloud and AI Development Act, plus an open-source strategy and a roadmap to digitize the energy sector.

The plan includes cloud audits, stronger intervention powers to secure semiconductor supplies, and support for open-source software.

Brussels also wants a major investment push to expand data centers and speed up AI adoption in energy.

The goal is to cut EU dependence on foreign providers in cloud, chips and critical infrastructure, reducing security and supply risks.
