Apple releases first iOS 26.5 public beta

Apple released the first public beta of iOS 26.5 after earlier developer betas and a revision.

The update does not include Gemini AI features but adds a Suggested Places search feature in Apple Maps.

Apple is testing end-to-end encryption for RCS and testing Live Activities push to third-party accessories in Europe.

iOS 26.5 may also introduce a discounted monthly payment option for annual subscriptions with commitment.
