Sony’s True RGB technology is aiming for the best of OLED and Mini LED

Sony unveiled True RGB, a new premium TV backlight system using separately controlled red, green, and blue diodes.

The company says it can improve brightness, color volume, and viewing angles versus current OLED and Mini LED TVs.

Sony’s demo showed stronger color performance than its BRAVIA 9 Mini LED and BRAVIA 8 OLED.

If it delivers in real homes, the technology could narrow the gap between OLED and Mini LED.
