DDR5 Memory Prices Just Took a Noticeable Dive for the First Time in Months, and Google’s TurboQuant Might Be Behind It

DDR5 memory prices fell this week after several months of increases, with tracking showing a widespread drop.

Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 32GB 6400 MHz is now retailing around $379.99 on Amazon US as Corsair modules saw price cuts.

A DDR5-5200 16GB (2x8GB) SKU is listed at $219.99 on Amazon US.

Newegg shows similar DDR5 price declines, and 32GB kits were retailing for over $450 last week.

Google's TurboQuant has been mentioned in connection with the drop; TurboQuant is a KV-cache compression algorithm that can reduce AI memory needs up to 6x and the paper reported no noticeable difference in long-context workloads.
