Seibu Railway provides a camper van rest area for railway staff working in the sweltering heat

Seibu Railway has fully introduced a mobile rest area using a camper van for staff working outdoors in the extreme heat.

A trial run in the summer of 2025 confirmed better rest comfort and improved work efficiency, leading to full adoption.

The move is meant to reduce heatstroke risk on the railway and improve safety for outdoor tasks such as track and facility maintenance.
