Windows Update Will Soon Revert Problematic Drivers Automatically

Microsoft will soon let Windows Update automatically roll back faulty drivers to a known-good version, starting a gradual rollout in September.

The new Cloud-Initiated Driver Recovery feature is designed to fix driver problems remotely without requiring user action.

Microsoft also said it is tightening driver quality checks, including stronger partner verification and kernel-mode driver hardening.

The broader effort aims to prevent bad drivers from shipping and reduce crashes and update-related issues for Windows users.
