ICYMI: Cursor launches Router to cut costs for coding models

Cursor has launched Cursor Router, an AI model-routing system for Teams and Enterprise users.

It automatically picks a model before each coding request, sending routine, visual, or complex tasks to different models.

Cursor says the classifier was trained on more than 600,000 requests, with early tests showing 30% to 50% savings for some customers and about 60% lower costs in broader experiments.

The tool spans desktop, web, iOS, CLI, and SDK, and could make large-scale AI-assisted development much cheaper without sacrificing frontier-level output.
