Portkey open-sources its AI gateway after processing 2 trillion tokens a day

Portkey launched and open-sourced its unified Portkey Gateway for production AI deployments.

The company said its platform processed two trillion tokens in a single day and handles over 120 million AI requests daily.

The open-source release includes MCP gateway, usage policy controls, a model catalog, real-time metrics, and OAuth support.

Portkey manages about $180 million in annualized AI spend across roughly 24,000 organizations and plans to scale token processing further.
