New station building "Plico Nishi-Akashi South Building" at JR Nishi-Akashi opens on June 26; new ticket gate and station plaza also unveiled

A new station building, south gate, bicycle parking, and station plaza at JR Nishi-Akashi Station’s south exit are set to open on June 26.

The new commercial facility, Plico Nishi-Akashi South Building, will launch together with the area’s “town opening” event.

The south-side renewal is designed to improve access, circulation, and barrier-free convenience around the station.

The redevelopment is expected to strengthen the station area as a local hub alongside broader neighborhood development.
