Trump's 2027 budget proposal again calls for large science cuts

The Trump administration released its proposed federal budget for 2027 that again targets steep cuts to science funding.

The plan would cut many research agencies, with NSF and EPA facing roughly 50% reductions and NIST cut by over half.

NIH would lose $5 billion from its roughly $47 billion budget and several agency programs would be eliminated.

The proposal repeats much of last year’s blueprint and targets climate-related research across multiple agencies.
