Amazon acquires Fauna Robotics, the startup building kid-sized robots for the home

Amazon has acquired Fauna Robotics, the startup behind the child-sized humanoid robot Sprout.

Fauna’s founders and employees will join Amazon in New York, and the deal terms were not disclosed.

The purchase expands Amazon’s robotics ambitions beyond warehouses into home and consumer-facing robots.

It also signals continued investment in automation and AI robotics despite recent regulatory hurdles.
