China's military obtained Nvidia chips despite US export controls, report claims

A New York Times report says Chinese military and defense-linked groups repeatedly sought restricted Nvidia AI chips from 2019 to 2025.

The procurement records reviewed by Wirescreen include attempts to buy A100, A800, H100, H800, and H200 models.

The buyers included military units, cyber teams, and defense-related universities, though the report does not prove every purchase was completed.
