Netherlands blocks US takeover of vital digital supplier

DigiD is the government login used to access public and other sensitive services in the country.

Dutch lawmakers raised security and sovereignty concerns and pushed to end the contract.

Officials worried foreign ownership could create jurisdiction and data-access risks, including possible US access to sensitive information.
