Snowflake expands enterprise data and AI interoperability

Snowflake announced expanded interoperability at Summit 26, led by Apache Iceberg v3 GA, Snowflake Storage for Iceberg tables, and Horizon Catalog built on Apache Polaris.

The company also introduced Catalog Linked Databases, an Iceberg REST Scan Plan API, and new zero-copy integrations with SAP, Salesforce, Workday, AVEVA, IBM, Samsung SDS, and NTT Docomo.

New AI capabilities like Cody and Horizon Context aim to enable governed cross-system querying and safer data use for AI agents.

The updates are designed to help enterprises share, govern, and analyze data across systems without copying or moving it, speeding AI development.
