Price Controversy Did Nothing To Stifle Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen On Switch

Nintendo said Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen topped 4 million Switch sales in six weeks, despite criticism over the $19.99 price.

Pokémon Pokopia also cleared 4 million sales in five weeks on Switch 2, showing strong demand for the franchise.

Stock shortages may have capped even higher sales, especially for Switch 2 hardware.

No new mainline Pokémon game is planned for 2026; Pokémon Winds and Waves is slated for 2027.
