Broadcasters in Gwangju and Jeolla call on the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Communications Commission to support the government

At a meeting in Gwangju, the Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission heard from local broadcasters in the Gwangju-Jeolla region.

Broadcasters said the slump in the ad market is worsening their finances and asked the government to ease regulations and expand funding support.

They warned that weakening regional broadcasters could hurt local news coverage and public-interest services such as disaster broadcasting.
