Anthropic found to be paying nearly 200 billion yen a month to SpaceX's cloud to secure compute resources for Claude

Anthropic has disclosed a cloud deal with SpaceX to secure massive AI compute for Claude, worth about $1.25 billion per month.

The contract gives Anthropic access to compute via systems including COLOSSUS and COLOSSUS II to address capacity shortages.

The filing shows major AI companies are paying enormous sums to lock in scarce GPU and supercomputer resources.

SpaceX also plans to monetize excess compute by renting it out to outside companies.
