The Pixel Launcher’s fixed search bar may finally become optional

Strings in Android 17 QPR1 beta 2 hint that Google may add a toggle to hide the Pixel Launcher search bar.

The search bar is currently fixed at the bottom of the Pixel home screen, so this would be a notable customization upgrade.

The feature is not confirmed for the final release, which is expected in September.

If shipped, it could pair with the option to hide At a Glance and make Pixel home screens less cluttered.
