Anthropic releases Claude Opus 5, its 'safest model yet'

Anthropic has released Claude Opus 5, positioning it as a safer and more efficient flagship model.

It is now the default model on Claude Max and the top model on Claude Pro.

The company says it delivers near-frontier performance at lower cost, with the lowest deception and misuse rates among its models.

Claude Opus 5 also posted strong results on science and general reasoning benchmarks, supporting consumer and research use.
