Mokpo responds to heat wave warning…223 cooling shelters in operation

Mokpo City has activated a heatwave-level response as heat advisories and tropical nights continue.

The city is running 223 cooling shelters, 136 shade canopies, 2 cooling fog installations, and 25 umbrella lending stations.

Some shelters have extended nighttime use and increased cooling-cost support to help vulnerable residents stay safe.

Health checks for seniors and other at-risk groups are being strengthened through tailored elder care services and care workers.
