Google Drive can now batch-scan your documents and spare you a few other frustrations, too

Google Drive is rolling out a redesigned Android document scanner with Smart Batch Scanning, Auto-Best Frame, Duplicate Detection, and a pause control.

The new experience also has a cleaner Material 3 Expressive interface and is available in Files by Google via Google Play Services.

Scans are processed on-device, can work offline, and improve privacy by avoiding cloud processing.

The feature helps reduce common mobile scanning friction, but it requires devices with at least 8GB of RAM.
