Space Force-backed mission does its best impression of Top Gun in orbit

A Space Force-backed Victus Haze demo showed True Anomaly’s Jackal satellite rapidly planning and executing an on-orbit chase of Rocket Lab’s Puma.

Jackal received a tasking, built a mission plan in under 30 minutes, and used onboard data plus ground algorithms to maneuver in orbit.

When Puma moved away during the approach, Jackal’s team replanned and kept the pursuit going.

The exercise highlighted how quickly the Space Force and commercial partners can retask, maneuver, and adapt satellites for future military space operations.
